Translating Stupid

Recently, I've been having a hard time figuring out some of the comments made by Animal Rights proponents.
While they often insult anyone who speaks English as a second language, usually as a way of intimidating them into shutting up, their own statements are utter nonsense.

Take this example.

What in the world is Shelly Pardy attempting to say here? God only knows. But the next time somebody complains about the education system in America, I know what I'll be thinking about in the back of my mind.

Thankfully, I had the brilliant idea to try Google Translate. After all, I hear it works wonders for writing protest letters to Japanese embassies. I wasn't let down. These are my results.

  1. Why whale meat?
Don't you have enough beef, tuna, pork, salmon, chicken, mackerel, lamb, crab, duck...?
Do you not have enough rice, wheat, soyabean, lettuce, potatoes...?
Don't you have enough to eat in Japan?
Is whale meat a staple or a delicacy/luxury/extravagance?
What about monkey meat or tiger or elephant or bear...?
I understand killing animals for food when there is a need, we human animals need to survive too, but killing for greed and "national/cultural" reasons?

  2. It's interesting how you guys want to legislate what is and isn't necessary for other people.
Why should people be limited to eating the same kind of meat as you - beef, pork, and chicken?
Not only is that very shallow and bigoted, but it's not good for the environment either.
Eating whale is perfectly sustainable, healthier than beef/pork/chicken, and more environmentally friendly.

But this isn't about the environment, and it never has been. It's about some people's unhealthy obsession with certain species they regard as holy. It's a cultural issue that stems from a sense of bigotry and imperialism from a certain kind of Westerner that believes it's not only their right, but their duty, to force their personal sense of twisted morals on the rest of the world.
